TeamViewer - remotely control your PC
There are situations when you need to remotely control a computer. For example, you are the administrator of a large network and need to connect to every PC to ensure that all of them are working correctly. Or you want to access files from your home computer while you are at work. There are dozens of situations in which you may need remote connection to a PC. Unfortunately, Windows doesn't have a reliable tool for remotely controlling a computer.
Still, there are some applications that offer just the right functionality for this purpose. One of them is TeamViewer. This Windows application allows you to control a computer from any PC connected to the Internet or even from a smartphone.
During installation, the user will be prompted to install or run the application. In case one doesn't have administrator privileges on the PC, he can choose to just run the program. After the installation process is complete, the user will be presented with a graphical interface, in which he can see two number fields, one for the user ID and the other for the password.
Anyone who knows the ID and the password will be able to connect to your computer. You'll just need to give the person this information. Besides that, if you often access your computer from trusted locations, like your office computer, you can set up unattended access, meaning that you will only need to create a TeamViewer account with a username and password and you will then be able to automatically connect to your computer. What's more, you will be able to see if the computer is online or offline.
After connecting to a PC remotely, you will be able to see its screen, perform keyboard and mouse actions, copy files and folders to your host computer and so on. You can also shut down or restart the PC by accessing the top graphical toolbar. Besides remote controlling a computer, TeamViewer also includes a feature called Instant Meetings, which allows you to create or join a meeting and communicate with several users at the same time. The meeting can be instantly created or can be scheduled.
